When our Ithaca drivers get the RAM 1500 TRX, not only are they getting a good value, they are also getting an award-winning truck.

For the first time ever, Ram has won the 2021 MotorTrend Truck of the Year for the third year in a row with their new RAM 1500 TRX model.

The MotorTrend Truck of the Year is a 10-day evaluation of different model-year trucks and SUVs where the editors test vehicles out against six different criteria.

The 2021 RAM 1500 TRX won because of its versatility on and off the road. Here are some of the reasons it won within the criteria:

Engineering Excellence

The 2021 RAM 1500 TRX has a 6.2L V8 engine, which is perfect for an off-road vehicle. The shocks on the truck help to absorb even the rockiest of roads and with 11.8 inches of ground clearance, you can go over most terrains in Vestal without damaging the underside.

The towing and hauling capacities were a significant factor in the award and in buying the truck. The truck can tow up to 12,750 pounds off its hitch and haul 2,000 pounds in the bed. And towing your kayak to Lake Scranton in Scranton is also made easier with power fold trailer tow mirrors and the 360° Surround View Camera that flips out to give you even more visibility of whatever you are towing.

Advancement in Design

The high-strength steel frame is designed to keep you safe and the truck sturdy on any type of road. Available power running boards make getting in and out of the truck easier by deploying the running boards automatically when the doors open.

The multifunction tailgate has two doors for easier access and maximum amount of cargo space. The doors can either be split 60/40 or the traditional pull-down tailgate so that you can access your cargo even when towing something behind you.
